Deluxe Games Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Eiichi Yaji) has announced that its new smartphone game app, “OUTRANKERS,” is scheduled to launch for iOS/Android in 2025.
“OUTRANKERS” is a “scramble action battle” where three teams, each with a “three-person formation,” clash. The player’s objective is to gather the most “Elpis”—a valuable resource that appears in all situations—to bring victory to their team.
The fun of this game lies in the rule: “anything goes” to achieve that goal. Elpis can be obtained not only by defeating enemies on the field but also by collecting it in various other situations. Three teams will battle it out, aiming for victory in a thrilling approximately three-minute match where the rankings can dramatically reverse at any moment due to cooperation, betrayal, or unexpected happenings.
This action battle game, designed for everyone to enjoy regardless of their “battle skill,” emerged from “Kami-Tsuku (Let’s Make a God-tier Game!)” (formerly “Let’s Make a Fighting Game!”), a game development documentary series on a YouTube channel launched by Yoshiki Okamoto, a game producer responsible for numerous global hits. After many twists and turns, the game has finally reached its official unveiling today.
Mr. Okamoto, who serves as the Executive Producer, commented on the game’s announcement:
“The time has finally come for everyone to see it. Thank you so much for your patience. With ‘OUTRANKERS,’ we’ve focused on a game design that allows people of all ages and genders to enjoy it in their own way. I believe that by bringing everything together, we’ll be able to bring joy to everyone.”
